Since the Gulf War in 1991 our citizen soldiers and active duty military personal have been called to combat duty
many times taking them away from their families, jobs and school.

We owe our military personnel (Guard/Reserve, Active, Retired) and families all the help we can provide especially to
the military personnel who have been injured, disabled or have been killed in battle or died of their wounds received
from going to war or at their duty station.

My priorities for our veterans

1. Ensure our State Guard units have the resources, personnel, and funding to do their jobs.

2. Increase funding for our veteran homes so high-quality care and personnel can provide 24/7 care.

3. Support Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) with increased funding.

4. Continue funding for the Yellow Ribbon program to help our veterans and their families returning from the war zone.
Thank you to all of our military vets who have served in the armed forces!

As a retired vet myself who served in the active Air Force from 72-77 as an enlisted security police dog handler, part
time Army National Guard member for 7 years and 13 years on active duty for the Army National Guard, I know and
understand the problems our vets and families are having today.

American Legions, VFW & Vietnam Vet Clubs
These organizations support our veterans in many ways to ensure their medical issues are taken care of by the VA.
These clubs support their local communities in many ways yet they need our help to maintain their operations. My
priorities are as follows:

1. Relief or modiciations of their property taxes.
2. Allow memberships in these clubs to vote on being smoke free or not to be smoke free. Employees must be allowed to
have an equal vote. 51% of the total membership must be reached to be a smoking club. If smoking is allowed a smoke
free area must be provided.
